His niece, Chantelle Williams, is organizing a GoFundMe campaign to support his funeral expenses and give him a proper send-off.
Mary Mills-Williams shared on Facebook, "My dearly beloved Uncle Wayne who recently passed was a very bright and adventurous person to be around. He loved life, carving, and making crafts with his hands, and was deeply attached to his home, T.I., and his family and friends. He enjoyed socializing and having a whiskey or two. Reaching out to friends and family, if you can assist the family in this time of sorrow to give him a good send-off, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you."
Wayne lived a life full of adventure, working and residing in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, before returning home to Thursday Island in 2017. Known for his warm, friendly, and outgoing character, he formed lifelong relationships with many.
Chantelle Williams is seeking to raise $15,000 AUD to cover Wayne’s funeral expenses. "As a small contribution of your love and gratitude to our Brother, Father, Uncle, Godfather, Grandfather, we ask to help us achieve his funeral expense goal and help lay him to rest," she stated in the fundraiser description.
The community is rallying to support the Williams family during this difficult time, ensuring Wayne receives the heartfelt farewell he deserves.
