The late Warren Wallace, known to many as Skip, passed away on Sunday, May 19th, 2024. Warren was diagnosed with dementia and dysphasia, conditions that left him speechless and physically disabled after a stroke. Despite his physical and mental health challenges, his wife Kathy Wallace cared for him devotedly, describing him as her best friend and the love of her life.
In his state of dementia, Warren unknowingly canceled all their life insurance policies and destroyed many important personal documents, including birth certificates and their son’s Marine discharge papers. Kathy managed to stop him before all documents were lost, but the damage was already significant. Efforts to recover the canceled insurances were unsuccessful, leaving Kathy without financial support.
The couple lived paycheck to paycheck, struggling to cover Warren’s medical expenses and their living costs with their social security checks. Now, with Warren’s passing, Kathy is left financially bankrupt and unable to afford a proper burial for her husband. She has set up a GoFundMe campaign titled "Support Kathy’s Journey After Loss" with a goal of $11,000 to cover funeral expenses and alleviate some of her financial burdens. As of now, the fundraiser has raised $25 from a single anonymous donor.
Kathy Wallace’s story highlights the financial and emotional struggles she faces after the loss of her beloved husband. Despite these challenges, she remains grateful for any help and support offered during this difficult time.
