Veronica Madrid, a beloved member of the Manteca community, has been battling brain cancer for a long time. In June, she and her family received the heartbreaking prognosis that her time is nearing its end. Currently, Veronica is in hospice care, facing her final days surrounded by loved ones.
Adding to the family’s distress, Veronica’s father, Daniel Madrid, recently suffered a stroke. He is now hospitalized and receiving treatment in a care facility. This dual tragedy has placed an immense emotional and financial strain on the Madrid family.
To support Veronica’s end-of-life care and Daniel’s ongoing medical expenses, Sonia and Francisco Recinos have organized a GoFundMe campaign. The fundraiser aims to ease the financial burden on the family during this incredibly challenging time. With a goal of $20,000, they have so far raised $300 from a single generous donor, Isis Serrano, who contributed just minutes after the campaign started.
Liza Anaya, a long-time family friend, shared her heartfelt support on Facebook, urging others to donate or keep the Madrids in their prayers. "I have known Veronica and the Madrid’s for years! They are truly wonderful selfless human beings! If you cannot donate financially please keep them in your prayers during this difficult time. Thank you!" she posted.
The community’s response has been one of compassion and solidarity, reflecting the deep connections Veronica and her family have built over the years. The Madrids are grateful for any form of support, be it financial contributions or prayers, as they navigate this painful chapter in their lives.
