The late Tyrone Gaskins from Alexandria, Virginia, is being mourned by his family and community. His relatives are now facing the challenge of funding his memorial service, which has led to the organization of a fundraiser to cover the expenses.
India Colbert, on behalf of Tracy Colbert, has started a GoFundMe campaign titled "Tyrone’s home going service." The campaign aims to raise $5,000 to give Tyrone the memorial he deserves and to honor his memory. As of now, the fundraiser has raised $2,095 from 24 donations.
"We want to give Tyrone the memorial that he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes," India Colbert stated on the fundraiser page. "Anything you are willing to give will be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for this difficult time."
Among the contributors, Sean Mcclary stands out with a generous donation of $500, marking the highest contribution so far. Sankar Tangala’s recent donation of $100 and Gina Fantroy’s initial donation of $25 also highlight the community’s support and collective effort to help the family during this challenging period.
Despite the sadness, the community’s response showcases the strength and unity in coming together to support Tyrone’s family, ensuring he receives a respectful and dignified farewell.
