The late Tyrone Anthony Holt from Moulden, NT, passed away last week due to men’s mental health issues. The tragic news has deeply affected his family and friends, who are now grappling with the immense pain of his loss.
Fay Griffin, a close family member, has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the expenses for Tyrone’s funeral. She shared on Facebook, "With heavy hearts, we have decided to start a GoFundMe to help cover some of the expenses that are needed to give Ty the send-off he deserves. Please share around; any donation will make a difference and be greatly appreciated."
The fundraiser has a goal of $15,000 AUD, with $310 AUD raised so far from five donations. Contributors include Kayla Boyer with $100, Deidre Walker with $50, Matt Layton with $100, and anonymous donors with $30 each. Fay Griffin expressed the family’s gratitude, stating, "It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of our son, brother, uncle & so much more, Tyrone Holt, to men’s mental health last week. As expected, it’s one of the hardest times for the family and friends right now, trying to come to terms with the fact that our loving Tyrone isn’t coming home to us all."
The funds raised will go towards covering the costs of Tyrone’s funeral service, helping to provide a dignified farewell for him. "In memory of Tyrone’s vibrant spirit and unwavering love for his family and everyone so very close to him, we are coming together to raise funds to support the family during this incredibly difficult time," Fay added.
The campaign reflects a collective effort to support Tyrone’s family as they navigate this devastating period. Each donation, no matter the size, offers meaningful support and helps ensure Tyrone receives the send-off he deserves.
The community is urged to join in with love, compassion, and support to help the Holt family through this unimaginable loss. The hashtag #ItAintWeakToSpeak highlights the importance of addressing men’s mental health issues and breaking the stigma surrounding them.
With heartfelt love and gratitude, Fay and her family thank everyone for their kindness and support during this sorrowful time.
