The late Tonia Vansant was from Spokane. Her family and community are in mourning and working to celebrate her life after her untimely passing. Tonia’s son, Ryder Vansant, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for her memorial services and to support her children, two of whom are minors.
Ryder Vansant expressed his gratitude for the support received so far. "Hello everyone, thank you for checking in and reaching out," he wrote on the GoFundMe page. "Today I am writing, asking for donations to help the family of Tonia Vansant. Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to our beloved mother, sister, and friend. If you knew Tonia, you knew how much love she had, how much she gave, and how much she fought day in and day out. She has six children, and two of them being under the ages of 18 are all struggling with this unexpected loss."
Ryder’s appeal highlights the family’s need for financial support to ensure a proper memorial for Tonia. "Ryder will be taking on the two youngest children now and could use any support, financially or not, he is thankful. Tonia gave anything she could and always tried to make things right and just so perfect anywhere she went. We want to give that to her, just like she deserves. Her children are asking for our community, and other loved ones help get the proper memorial, and services done for her."
The fundraiser, created on June 14th, 2024, has raised $99 out of a $10,000 goal, with donations from Molly Bryant ($25), Sharon Presti ($50), Kamelia Cheridyn Kosa ($5), Anonymous ($9), and Tori Amicarella ($10).
On Facebook, Erika Vansant shared her appreciation for the community’s support. "Beyond grateful for the outreach my siblings and I have received this last week. Our mother would be comforted knowing we have so much love and support around us in this time. Please share this post & thank you for helping in any way possible."
The community’s response underscores the impact Tonia had on those around her and the collective effort to honor her memory.
