Tommy “Tiger” Tousha, 55, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 13, 1968, in Dayton, Texas, to the late Tommy Gene Tousha and Curley Lee Maxey and was raised in the Liberty area, where he remained his entire life. Tiger was a lifelong member of Pentecostal Tabernacle, a proud Marine dad, and a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 5621 in Liberty, Texas.
Tiger’s health journey was marked by immense struggle, having been diagnosed with Stage 4 Esophageal Cancer, Stage 4 Lung Cancer, and Stage 4 Bone Cancer in his hips and spine. This devastating news came in his final weeks, leading to an enormous emotional and financial burden on his family.
To support the Tousha family during this challenging time, a GoFundMe campaign was organized by Marsha Tousha. The fundraiser aims to raise $4,000 to cover end-of-life expenses, as Tiger had no life insurance, leaving his family in debt. Marsha shared, “We all love and cherished Tiger Tousha, and we ask that everyone keep our family in your prayers.”
Tiger’s cousin, Becky Doss, expressed her sorrow on Facebook, saying, “Yall please keep my family in yalls prayers. I just now found out I lost my cousin Tiger Tousha. He was one of a kind and would help anybody that needed help. He always looked out for his family if we was out dancing. There is nobody like him. I am soo sorry Renee Tousha. Yall r in my prayers. I love yall.”
Hunter Tousha, Tiger’s daughter-in-law, also shared on social media about a Memorial Benefit that will be held on July 13th at the VFW in Liberty from 11 am to 6 pm. This event is another effort to gather support and remember the man who meant so much to his community and family.
Condolences poured in from friends and family on Facebook. Robert Nita Shugart wrote, “Sorry for your loss,” while Darla Sharp added, “Praying for family.” Many others, including T Roy Wright, Betty Maupin, and Linda Bourland, also expressed their sympathy and prayers for the Tousha family during this difficult time.
The community’s support has been crucial for the Tousha family, showcasing the strength of collective compassion in times of loss. Tiger’s legacy of kindness and community spirit continues to inspire those who knew him, as they come together to honor his memory and assist his loved ones.
