The late Thelma Ross, from Goodyear, Arizona, peacefully passed away on Monday evening. Known for her dedication to women, children, and families, Thelma was a cherished friend and a fierce advocate. Her passing has left a significant void in the community, and her daughter, Jessica Castorina, is seeking support for the costs associated with a celebration of life.
Kimberly Craig shared her thoughts on Facebook, stating, "For those who haven’t heard Thelma Ross peacefully passed on Monday evening. Thelma was one of the good ones – a true warrior for women, children and families, a dear friend, the first to offer support to anyone in need and also a ‘cage rattler’ as she said to me Saturday, ‘we rattled a few cages, didn’t we?’ She will be so missed. Jessica, her daughter, can use some support to cover costs associated with a celebration of life. If you wish – I know it will be appreciated. Rest in peace dear Thelma – you meant the world to me."
Jessica Castorina has organized a GoFundMe campaign titled "Honoring Thelma Ross: A Celebration of Life," aiming to raise $5,000. As of today, $425 has been raised through five donations. Jessica describes her mother as "a mother of many, friend of many more, and mentor to all," emphasizing her selfless nature and dedication to the greater good. Jessica expresses deep gratitude for any contributions that will help honor her mother’s legacy.
Comments on Facebook also reflect the impact Thelma had on those around her. Daniel Pavlish expressed his sorrow, saying, "So sorry for your loss." Mindy Beck offered her condolences, and Tara Sang shared, "RIP sweet Thelma. She definitely is one of the good ones. Prayers to her family during this time." Rebecca Peralta and Christina Diane also conveyed their condolences and admiration for Thelma.
The community’s response highlights the profound influence Thelma had on those she touched. Her work and contributions will continue to live on through the lives she impacted, as Christina Diane noted, "Such an amazing lady! A cage rattler for sure. She will be missed and as we all know the work and her contributions will continue to live on in all those she impacted."
