The late Tanner Decatur, from Fredericksburg, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on June 27, 2024. This tragedy has deeply affected his family, especially his wife, who is currently mourning his loss. The Decatur family is now facing the added burden of covering the costs for Tanner’s celebration of life.
Zalica Kidwell, a family friend, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to help ease the financial strain on Tanner’s family. As of today, the fundraiser has raised $410 out of a $5,000 goal, with contributions from six donors. Stephanie Snead donated $100, Alison Leary gave $20, Isaac Suarez contributed $50, Justin Gadrow offered $100, and Joseph M. Schlenk also donated $100.
Zalica shared her heartfelt plea on Facebook, urging the community to come together to support Tanner’s family during this difficult time. "On 6/27/24, the Decatur family unexpectedly lost Tanner Decatur. This tragedy has hit their family hard, and the last thing they should be concerned about is the cost of his celebration of life. His beautiful wife and his family are currently mourning, and I would like to urge our community to help them as much as we possibly can. Anything helps! Please keep this beautiful family in your prayers."
Additionally, for those who prefer to contribute in other ways, Zalica has provided a Cashapp option for donations: $tayvocado.
The community’s response, though still growing, reflects a collective effort to alleviate some of the financial burdens faced by Tanner’s grieving family.
