Steve Shook, a beloved family man and a respected member of the Kimberling City community, tragically lost his life in a severe car accident on the evening of May 14th, 2024. The accident, which occurred late at night, resulted in his untimely death early the next morning. The community is in mourning, as Steve’s death has left a void that will be profoundly felt by many, including his wife Denise, his sons Joshua and Justin, his daughter Sydney, and his three grandsons.
In the wake of this sudden loss, Carla Shook, a family member, shared her grief on Facebook, requesting prayers for her sons and grandsons who lost a father and a grandfather, respectively. "Steve Shook you will be missed by many!" she expressed, highlighting the impact of his departure on the family and community.
Condolences and messages of sympathy poured in from friends and acquaintances on social media. Kelly Ahart commented, "So sorry for your loss!" while Angie Henderson and Nicolette Gaumer both echoed similar sentiments of shock and sorrow. Michelle Dierkes remembered Steve as a "Good guy! He will be missed!"
To assist the family during this difficult time, a fundraiser has been set up by Jessica Cardenzana to cover funeral and memorial expenses, reflecting the community’s efforts to support the Shook family. Despite Steve’s role as the main breadwinner and his extensive contributions to the local community through his business, A.S.E. Mobile Mechanic, the family faces financial difficulties in managing the unexpected funeral costs. The fundraiser aims to gather $5,000 to help alleviate these burdens, with only $55 raised so far from two donations.
Steve Shook was known for his generosity, humor, and dedication to his family and work. He often spent his free time on Table Rock Lake, sharing moments of joy with his family and friends. His absence is not only a personal loss to his family but also a professional loss to those who relied on him in the Kimberling City community.
As the Shook family and friends prepare to say their final goodbyes, the date and time for the memorial service will be announced later, allowing those who knew Steve to pay their respects and commemorate a life that, though ended too soon, was filled with love, laughter, and kindness.
