The late Stephanie Adell Dunn from New Bern has passed away, leaving her family and community in deep mourning. Her sister, Chantel Dunn, announced her transition with a heartfelt message on Facebook, asking for prayers, especially for Stephanie’s only daughter, Kala Pate.
The Dunn family, particularly her daughter Kala, is navigating this difficult time with the support of friends and the community. Chantel’s post resonated with many, leading to an outpouring of condolences and prayers on social media.
Several friends expressed their sorrow and extended their condolences:
- Sharon Boomer Burden commented, "My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. Please let me know if there’s anything I can do. Love you."
- Lisa Jones Wiltse shared, "I’m so sorry to hear this. Prayers for you all!"
- Betty Green wrote, "Sending my condolences to her one and only daughter Kala and to the Dunn Family, praying for the strength of God to grace each and every one of you until you all can smile again. The Song Bird is now gone on home to be with Jesus and is now resting from her labor."
To assist with the burial expenses, Kala Pate has organized a GoFundMe campaign. Despite having most of the expenses covered, the family is still short of funds. The goal is to raise $3,000, and so far, $140 has been raised from three donations.
Kala expressed her gratitude, stating, "We as a family are blessed to have most of her expenses taken care of but we are unfortunately short. Every little bit helps, no amount is too small. There is strength in numbers and I’m humbly asking for as many to help with what you can. Thank you in advance to those that have or plan to give."
