The late Sonny Tote, from England, has left a significant void in the hearts of his family and friends. The community is currently grappling with the loss and the financial burden of his funeral expenses. A GoFundMe campaign has been organized by Demileigh Mcadam to assist with these costs. The goal is to raise £3,000, and as of now, £205 has been raised through four donations.
Demileigh Mcadam, who set up the page on behalf of Sonny’s father, Jeff, and with the support of her father-in-law, Tess, has expressed the family’s gratitude for any contributions during this difficult time. "Any donations would be kindly appreciated to help Sonny’s family at this awful time. Thank you," reads the campaign description.
Friends and acquaintances have taken to Facebook to share their memories and condolences. Hayley Taylor reminisced about their childhood, saying, "We were never really close, even tho knew him since we was kids/growing up on the same street and when we got older and more mature, that’s when we spoke like adults! I remember him going into the shop for me years ago and getting us a bottle of vodka so we could have a drink hahahah! Crazy, cause it is a shock for someone you’ve known as a child for so long, rest easy Sonny J Toti."
The fundraiser highlights the collective effort of the community to support Sonny’s family and ensure he receives a proper farewell. The donations so far include £40 from Alan Russell, £100 from David Chandler, £50 from Joanne Schubeler, and £15 from Demi McDam.
The loss of Sonny Tote underscores the challenges families face during bereavement, both emotionally and financially. The community’s support through donations and shared memories is a testament to the impact Sonny had on those around him.
