The late Shirley Plumstead was a devoted mother, sister, and friend from Brantford, Ontario. She passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind her two children, JD and Shaira Plumstead. The community is rallying to support her family during this difficult time, as they come to terms with their loss and prepare for her funeral.
Shirley’s passing has left a significant void in the lives of those who knew her. Muskan Verma shared on Facebook, "J.D. and Shaira truly are the sweetest people. Shirley was an amazing mom to both of them, and losing someone so amazing is really difficult, especially at a young age. Please donate if you are able. My heart goes out so much to both of you."
A GoFundMe campaign organized by Simran Dhillon on behalf of Shaira Plumstead has been set up to help with funeral expenses and to provide support for JD and Shaira. As of yesterday, the fundraiser has raised $1,585 CAD out of its $10,000 goal, with contributions from 25 donors. Sherry Phong, the top donor, contributed $200, while others have made generous donations to assist the family.
Shirley was known for being hardworking, resilient, and selfless, always showing care and support to her loved ones. Simran Dhillon described her as someone who provided a beautiful life for her children and is now resting peacefully. The community’s support is a testament to the impact Shirley had on those around her.
In these trying times, the collective effort to support JD and Shaira underscores the importance of community and togetherness. The fundraiser highlights the need for assistance when insurance and other supports fall short, leaving grieving families to navigate financial and emotional hardships alone.
