The late Sengsuri Manivong was from Harrisonburg, Virginia. He was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer that had spread to his pancreas, bones, and brain. This aggressive cancer left his daughter, Virginia Manivong, with little time to gather the funds necessary to visit him from Wisconsin before his condition worsened.
To aid Virginia in this dire situation, Daniel Featherstone organized a GoFundMe campaign titled "Enable Virginia’s Farewell Visit to Sengsuri." The goal was to raise $5,000 to cover the costs of travel, food, lodging, and the miscellaneous expenses incurred from missing work for Virginia and her son, KJ. As of today, the fundraiser has raised $50 from a single donation by Daniel Featherstone, who became the early supporter.
Virginia expressed her gratitude on Facebook, posting, "Please help my son and I get home to Virginia to see my dad before he passes. Anything you can give would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!"
Sengsuri was a loving and reliable pillar of support for Virginia throughout her life, and it was her deepest wish to say goodbye to him in person. The urgency of the situation was underscored by the prognosis that Sengsuri might not live to see the end of July, making immediate donations crucial.
The community’s support and compassion can make a significant difference in helping Virginia and KJ make this important trip to bid farewell to a beloved father and grandfather.
