The late Scott Allore from Traverse City, Michigan, is deeply mourned by his community. Scott, a culinary arts graduate from Schoolcraft College, had a profound impact on those around him. J&S Hamburg South Airport, where Scott worked, shared their heartfelt sorrow on Facebook, "Many of you know and love Scott. He is a dear friend of ours and means the world to us… We can’t believe this. He is such a wonderful man, loves us, loves our kiddos and is such a great person."
Scott battled mouth cancer since 2023, and it recently progressed to his lungs, causing his health to decline rapidly. Despite plans for further treatment, the cancer’s aggressive progression halted these efforts. A GoFundMe campaign organized by Kelly King aims to raise $12,000 to cover Scott’s medical and memorial expenses. As of now, $225 has been raised from two donations.
Scott’s journey began in Lincoln Park, Michigan, where he attended Lincoln Park High School. He later moved to Traverse City and worked at various restaurants, including Moros in Allen Park and J&S Hamburg South Airport. Five years ago, Scott sought recovery at Addiction Treatment Services in Traverse City, where he reignited his passion for cooking.
Many have expressed their condolences and memories on social media. Michael Cowan wrote, "Great dude. In my thoughts and prayers. I recall quite a few great memories with Scott." Chantel Zuniga added, "He helped coach my son’s baseball team a few years ago, he was a great guy. Prayers for you all!" Others, like Kathy Slusser and Penny Nelson, shared their prayers for Scott and his family during this difficult time.
Scott’s life and struggle highlight the importance of community support and the challenges faced by those battling serious illnesses. The fundraiser, led by Kelly King, reflects the collective effort to honor Scott’s legacy and provide for his final needs.
