The late Sam Kalunahelu III from Cerritos, California, passed away suddenly on June 13, 2024, at the age of 57 due to health complications. Born on April 28, 1967, at Los Angeles Harbor Hospital, Sam lived a vibrant and passionate life, deeply loved by his family and friends.

His love for music extended across many genres, defining him as a layered and passionate individual.
After high school, Sam pursued higher education at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Cuesta College, and San Diego State University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology. His career in the film and television industry saw him working as an assistant director on over 60 TV shows and films. Sam’s work ethic and professionalism made a lasting impact on those he worked with, including Joe Rosati, who fondly remembered Sam’s contributions on the set of "Blood and Oil" in 2015 in Park City, Utah.
