The late Robert Stanley Martin Sr., fondly known as "Big Bob," was from Saint Clair Shores. His sudden decline has left his family and community in mourning, and they are now facing the difficult task of arranging his final farewell. Due to financial constraints, his family is unable to meet the necessary expenses for his burial.
Bobby Martin, Robert’s son, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to raise $11,000 for his father’s funeral. As of today, they have raised $450 from five donations. Bobby expressed his deep sorrow on Facebook, stating, "I hate that I have to do this but the time has come to say goodbye to Big Bob, any help is appreciated and if you can’t help please share! Thanks everyone."
The outpouring of support from friends and family on Facebook has been overwhelming. Nick Yfantides wrote, "One up on two forever," while Natalie Seese commented, "I’m so so sorry Bobby. Prayers for your family." Kristina Palazzola shared her condolences, saying, "Love you, your dad was a good man and father, he will be missed dearly."
Other friends also offered their support. Brooke Methric said, "I’m so sorry for your loss!" and Christopher Smith added, "Hey brotha sorry to hear this. If you need anything let me know." Rick Reiff expressed his sympathy with "My deepest condolences," and Dino Sykes echoed, "My condolences buddy!"
The family’s plea for help has touched many, with individuals like Logan Manor sharing heartfelt messages, "Man life ain’t fair at all. So sorry to see this duder. Rest up to one of the greatest men I’ve got to get life advice from and be around. You and your family are in my prayers Bobby Martin." Rhonda Palazzola remembered Robert as "One of the strongest men I knew. His inner strength and spirit was amazing! Hard to beat. Going to be dearly missed."
