The late Robert McFarlane from Scotland passed away suddenly last week. The news has left his friends and family in shock, struggling to cope with his unexpected death. To ease the financial stress during this difficult time, his friends have set up a GoFundMe page, organized by Deborah McCabe, aiming to raise £2,000 for his funeral and to support his family.
As of today, £1,065 has been raised through 28 donations, with contributions ranging from £10 to £100. The top donation of £100 was given by Leonie Coyle, while the most recent donation of £50 came from June Carey.
Debbie Fraser shared the fundraiser on Facebook, expressing her gratitude for any contributions: "We as Roberts friends have set up this go fund me page in the help of easing some of the financial stress that comes with losing a loved one so suddenly. Any donations are much appreciated no matter how small and we are extremely grateful. Please share."
James Bowers, the first donor, paid tribute to Robert with a simple yet heartfelt message: "Rest easy big man." Others echoed similar sentiments. Deborah Hoole wrote, "RIP Robert," while Mags Cartwright and Cath Wallace both shared messages of rest and peace for Robert.
XJojo Wilson, reflecting on their friendship, mentioned, "Done… donated what I could the now… would much rather buy him a wee pint in the brazen with this cash I’m so fuckin sad. Woulda been more Robert but you owed me a score love ye big man xx."
