Richie Reid, a beloved resident of Scotland, tragically passed away at the young age of 38. Richie leaves behind his partner of 18 years, Ruth, their four children, and his son from a previous relationship. Known as a "gentle giant," Richie was cherished as a great partner, father, brother, cousin, and friend to all who knew him. His selflessness and willingness to help anyone in need were defining characteristics.
In the wake of his untimely death, his cousin Stephanie Reid has organized a fundraiser to support Ruth and the children during this difficult time. The goal is to raise £500 to give Richie the send-off he deserves. As of today, £275 has been raised through six donations. Stephanie herself has contributed £150, Anthony Naughton donated £10, Bronwynn Hervo gave £80, Jill Noble donated £5, and Joe Naughton contributed £20.
Stephanie shared on the GoFundMe page, "Hi everyone, I’m Steph, and I’m asking for your help in raising funds for my cousin Richie’s partner Ruth and his kids to give him the send-off he deserves. Richie sadly passed away at the young age of 38, leaving behind his partner of 18 years, Ruth, their four kids together, and his son from a previous relationship. Richie was a gentle giant, as anyone who knew him would say. A great partner, father, brother, cousin, and friend to all who knew him. He would give his right arm to help anyone, and we’re just looking to do the same for his family right now."
Adding to the family’s grief, Ruth recently lost her brother in a tragic accident two months ago, making this period even more challenging. Bronwynn Hervo commented on Facebook, "Anything at all would be greatly appreciated, or even a share to help Ruth give Richie the send-off he deserves."
The community’s support through donations and sharing the fundraiser is a testament to the love and respect they have for Richie and his family. Any and all contributions are welcome and greatly appreciated as they navigate through this heartbreaking time.
