The late Raquise "Quez" Walls from Columbus, Georgia, tragically passed away on Friday, May 17th. Quez was just shy of turning 21 and had a bright future ahead of him. His life was cut short, leaving his family and friends in deep mourning.
Martinne Copeland, along with Destinne Copeland and Rosetta Lowe, has organized a fundraiser to cover Quez’s funeral expenses. They aim to raise $7,000 to cover the costs of the casket, funeral home services, and other related expenses. As of today, they have raised $375 through six donations.
Martinne Copeland expressed her grief and gratitude on the fundraiser page, stating, "You see them on social media, or hear about them on the news but you never expect it to be you or your family. Friday, May 17th, tragedy hit my family. My cousin Raquise ‘Quez’ Walls’ life was cut short. Just shy of turning 21, Quez had a lot to offer, a lot to accomplish, a lot to experience but he didn’t get the chance."
The community has started to rally around the family, offering support and donations. Natasha Washington posted on Facebook, "Rest in paradise Raquise Walls I’m going to miss you son I love you. Give us the strength to get through this." Maria Walker also shared her condolences, writing, "Tell uncle Robert condolences from me and my husband Robert. Let God handle it he got it. Keep his head up."
The family is grateful for any donations, big or small, and appreciates the community’s kindness and support during this challenging time. This collective effort aims to honor Quez’s memory and help his family navigate through their tragic loss.
