The late Penny Ann Loukes, 69, of Superior, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2024, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Marlene and Frank, Penny was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her husband, Roger Loukes, her children Anthony, Rochelle, Nicole, Tricia, and Desirae, and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Penny’s daughter, Tricia Marlene, shared on Facebook, "Our mother, Penny Loukes, has passed away yesterday morning surrounded by her loved ones by her side. Rest in peace, my beautiful mother, my best friend. Your heart and love will live on within all of us who know and love you."
Penny’s passing has deeply affected her community. Friends and family have flooded social media with condolences and memories. Alex Baum wrote, "Oh, I am so sorry for you and your family. Penny was an awesome woman. She made me laugh countless times and I’ll never forget her. Sending you all my love and hugs." Kelly Lindelof added, "I am so sorry for your loss," reflecting the sentiments of many who knew Penny.
A GoFundMe campaign has been created by Nicole Watson to help with Penny’s funeral expenses and medical debts incurred during her battle with pancreatic cancer. The fundraiser aims to collect $12,000 to support the family during this difficult time. Donations can be made through the GoFundMe page.
Penny’s funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, June 11, at the Dewey Borea Gospel Tabernacle in Superior, with a public visitation at 10:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM, and a luncheon at noon. The burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery in South Range, WI.
Penny Loukes was an extraordinary woman who touched many lives through her kindness, love for gardening, and her role as a foster mother. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
