The late PauL Stinnett, a vibrant and cherished member of the Corvallis community, passed away last year on July 4th at the age of 38. Known for his quick wit, singular honesty, and unwavering support for his friends, PauL left an indelible mark on those who knew him.
To honor PauL’s memory, Corey Fisher and Ian Holmes have organized a fundraiser to support the installation of a memorial bench at Willamette Park in Corvallis, Oregon. This bench will replace the one at the 9th hole of the disc golf course, a spot where PauL and his friends often paused for a picnic lunch or rest. This memorial aims to provide a lasting tribute to PauL, offering a place for future disc golfers to relax and build their own cherished memories.
The fundraiser, which began on June 6th, 2024, has a goal of $3,000 to cover the costs of purchasing, installing, and maintaining the bench, as well as creating a memorial plaque. Any additional funds raised will be donated to the South Corvallis Food Bank in honor of PauL’s love of cooking.
As of now, the fundraiser has received $325 from three donors. Contributions include $100 from Michael Walker, $25 from an anonymous donor, and $200 from Nicole Wager. The community’s support is crucial in making this tribute a reality and ensuring that PauL’s memory continues to inspire and bring people together.
The initiative reflects the deep affection and respect PauL’s friends and the community have for him, demonstrating how collective efforts can create meaningful memorials for those we’ve lost.
