The late Patricia Chileno, a beloved member of the Irving community, was tragically murdered at her workplace, Chick-fil-A on North McArthur, on Wednesday. Patricia was a dedicated single mother who leaves behind her only daughter, who is also a single mother. This unexpected and heartbreaking loss has left her family and friends in deep sorrow.
Gerson Sorto, a close friend, has organized a fundraiser to cover Patricia’s funeral expenses. He shares, "Hello, my name is Gerson, I am remembering funds for funeral expenses of Patricia Chileno. She was a working mother. single who leaves her daughter behind, her only daughter, also a single mother alone, needs your help and the entire Irving community or anyone who wants to collaborate with her."
As of now, the fundraiser has raised $10 out of a $15,000 goal, with the first donation made by Karina Trevino. Gerson highlights the urgency and importance of community support, stating, "We trust in our community that they can lend a hand because we know that these expenses are not cheap and because they are people with limited resources and we need help from the community. We hope they can understand and support."
Patricia’s death has shocked and devastated the Irving community. On Facebook, Miguel Aguirre expressed his grief, "Que tristeza aun no lo puedo creer dios la tenga en su santa gloria," which translates to "What sadness, I still can’t believe it, may God have her in his holy glory." Another friend, Fabian Sorto, wrote, "Fly high Patricia Chileno. We will remember you with that smile always. My prayers for you and I hope whoever did this to you pays with all the weight of the law. RIP."
The community’s outpouring of support and heartfelt messages reflect the profound impact Patricia had on those around her. The hope is that with the collective effort of friends, family, and community members, the financial burden of her funeral expenses can be alleviated, allowing her daughter to focus on grieving and healing during this incredibly difficult time.
