The late Kenia Estefany Lazo Castro and her uncle Milton Lazo tragically perished in an apartment fire on Monday, May 20th, in Berkeley, South Carolina. Kenia, only 24 years old, had a bright future ahead of her, while Milton, 35, was working towards a better life for his three children back in Honduras.
This unexpected disaster has brought immense grief to their family. Oscar Romero, Kenia’s brother, has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the costs of sending their bodies back to Honduras for burial. The total cost for this is $40,000, which is a significant financial burden for the family.
The funeral home has provided a time frame of 2-3 weeks to arrange everything. Oscar and his family are deeply appreciative of any support they can receive to help bring Kenia and Milton back home and provide them with a proper resting place.
