Nick “Yisroel” Amic, who had spent his early years in Los Angeles before moving to Hudson, Wisconsin, passed away at a young age. His funeral and burial took place shortly after his passing, but now his friends and community are rallying to honor his memory with a tombstone.
Tim Harris, who knew Nick well, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for this purpose. Tim shared his thoughts on Nick, saying, “Nick is an amazing person who did so much in his short time on Earth. Let’s help honor him and his memory.”
The fundraiser, titled "Help Honor Nick with a Tombstone," has raised $216 out of a $3,000 goal. Tim Harris made the first donation and is urging others to support the cause. He explained the significance of the tombstone in Jewish tradition, which is placed at the grave after at least 11 months have passed. The funds will be used entirely to purchase and place the tombstone at Nick’s gravesite, followed by an official dedication and remembrance ceremony.
Friends and community members have also shared their support and thoughts on Facebook. Ibrahim Integral expressed his commitment to the campaign, offering assistance on how to gather more donations. Michael Wiener, although unable to donate at the moment, shared the post in hopes of contributing soon.
This collective effort underscores the impact Nick had on those who knew him and the community’s desire to honor his memory appropriately.
