The late Nelson Webber was from Orlando, Florida. His family and friends are deeply mourning his sudden loss, trying to cope with the tragedy that struck on May 19, 2024. Nelson celebrated his 24th birthday just last weekend on May 12th, a joyous occasion that now feels like a painful memory. Nelson, who was known for his positivity and zest for life, tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run motorcycle accident. The accident occurred around 7:30 PM when a reckless driver ran a stop sign and fled the scene, leaving Nelson to take his last breath alone on a street without traffic lights.
Nelson’s death has left a significant void in the lives of those who knew him. He was a beloved son, a brother, a friend, and was eagerly awaiting the birth of his daughter. His fiancée, Gabriela Arroyo, is now left to face a future without him, grappling with the loss of her first love and the father of her child.
Gabriela has organized a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for Nelson’s funeral and memorial. She shared her heartbreak and the urgent need to gather enough money to move Nelson’s body from the Medical Examiner’s Office to a funeral home. The goal is to give Nelson a proper burial and to allow his loved ones to see him one last time. As of today, the fundraiser has raised $480 out of the $25,000 goal, with donations from friends and community members, including Gabriel Sanchez and Michelle Melo, contributing $100 each.
Juliana Webber, one of the supporters, posted on Facebook urging for help: "Nelson needs a proper burial he deserves this at last. If anybody could help donate and share this please, we need all the support we can get." Another friend, Tensie Taylor, shared her appreciation for the help Nelson had given her in the past, highlighting his generous spirit.
Nelson’s tragic and untimely death serves as a somber reminder of the fragility of life and the impact of reckless driving. His family and friends are left to navigate their grief and the financial burden of his burial, hoping for community support to honor Nelson’s memory.
