The late Mrs. Sarah Sakor Coleman Capehart, a cherished member of the community and a beloved family matriarch, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024, in Locust Grove, USA. Mrs. Capehart had relocated to Locust Grove to be with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren just four days before her passing.
Mrs. Sarah Sakor Coleman Capehart, formerly of Old Matadi Estate Unit # A-13 in Liberia, West Africa, had a distinguished career as a veteran police officer. She rose to the esteemed rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Liberia National Police and also dedicated part of her career to the National Lottery Authority.
She is survived by her son, Mr. Roosevelt V. Capehart Jr., and her four daughters: Valerie Capehart, Emma Capehart, Rosaleta Capehart Toe, and Munah Capehart Norman. Her legacy continues through her 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Capehart also leaves behind many relatives and friends in the United States, Liberia, and around the world, including five sisters, her daughter-in-law Mrs. Lucky M. Capehart, and her two sons-in-law, David T. Norman and Charles Mah Toe.
A memorial service for Mrs. Capehart is planned for July 27, 2024, in Manassas, Virginia. Following the memorial, her final journey will take her back home to Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa, for a funeral and burial.
In honor of Mrs. Capehart, her family has set up a GoFundMe campaign to cover the expenses associated with her embalming and preparation, memorial service and repass, funeral, and travel arrangements to Liberia.

The fundraiser, organized by Davina Norman, has raised $500 of its $25,000 goal, with donations from individuals like Adriana Sekajipo ($200), Samuel Akonnor ($100), Kirstie Holland ($100), and Lawrence Sekajipo Jr. ($100). The family deeply appreciates any contributions, sharing of the campaign link, and messages of condolence.
