The late Mitchell Clark was from Sheridan, Oregon. The community and his family are struggling to prepare his burial and support his daughter, sisters, and parents, so this news is devastating. Sarah Mueller, Mitchell’s sister, is fundraising for his funeral and family. She has described their struggle due to unanticipated expenses.
For her brother’s burial and his family’s financial needs, Sarah Mueller created a GoFundMe campaign. Raising $20,000 is her goal. As of today, $2,500 has been raised from 25 donations. The family was unprepared for the high cost of a funeral service, making this fundraiser crucial.
"It comes with heartbreak and a great deal of sadness, to announce the tragic passing of my brother, Mitchell Clark," Sarah writes on GoFundMe. "Mitchell left earth on the evening of June 26th to be with Jesus in Heaven. To know Mitchell was to love him. He had the kindest heart and soul, and would drop everything to help anybody in need. Life will never be the same without Mitchell."
The community has rallied around the fundraiser. Julie McColm posted on Facebook, "Please keep the Clark Family in your deepest thoughts & prayers as they navigate through this unexpected loss. Mitchell was the sweetest, most carefree, giving person out there! His smile and energy would light up any room he was in. If you had the chance to know Mitch, you knew just how kind-hearted he was."
Arrangements for Mitchell’s service are still being made, as confirmed by Julie McColm in a response to Gabriella Carmona on Facebook. Despite individual pain and bureaucratic challenges, this fundraising effort shows the necessity for collective togetherness in crises. It also illustrates the often overlooked issues families face when unprepared for the financial burden of sudden loss.
