With a heavy heart, the family and friends of Mike Grishkin Jr. bid him farewell. Mike, a dedicated auto and aircraft mechanic known for his kind and generous nature, passed away at his home on Mother’s Day, May 12, 2024, due to health issues.
Mike’s son, Ryan Grishkin, organized a GoFundMe campaign on May 14, 2024, to help cover the costs of Mike’s cremation, celebration of life, and other final expenses. The fundraiser has seen a tremendous outpouring of support, raising $5,975 of the $6,000 goal through six donations. Among the donors, James McNeil contributed $5,000, JulieKarie Renfroe gave $500, and Christina Exclusa, Paul & Kathy Soto, and Lisa Spiegel made additional contributions.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Ryan expressed his gratitude and sorrow, writing, "As most know, I lost my dad. We are doing a GoFundMe to help with final expenses and have my wife’s Venmo and Cash app on here too. We can also do Zelle if preferred. Thank you."
Ryan further shared, "We were not prepared to say goodbye to our father & are asking for donations to help with the costs of his cremation, celebration of life & other expenses. Times are hard for us all & we would appreciate any help you are able to give and/or sharing this link. Please help us give our dad a proper goodbye."
Mike Grishkin Jr. was remembered as a hardworking man who was always ready to help others. "Underneath his grease-stained T-shirt was a soft & kind heart, a man willing to drop everything to help anyone," Ryan wrote. The family plans to hold a service in June to celebrate Mike’s life and honor his memory.
The community’s support highlights the profound impact Mike had on those around him and underscores the collective effort to provide him with a dignified farewell.
