Mick Carter, a beloved resident of England, has tragically lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, 28th May 2024, at 9:20 pm. Mick’s friends and family are currently seeking support to cover his funeral costs through a fundraiser organized by Tracie Flint.
Mick was diagnosed with prostate cancer in November 2022. Due to underlying heart issues, he underwent months of hormone injections to prevent the cancer from spreading, aiming to prepare his heart for chemotherapy. Despite these challenges, Mick remained active, continuing to work, care for his grandchildren, and attend medical appointments.
In early 2023, Mick began experiencing severe pain in his left ribs. Multiple visits to healthcare facilities initially attributed the pain to his diaphragm or heart. However, further investigation revealed nodules on his lungs by July, and by October 2023, Mick was diagnosed with lung cancer that had metastasized to his bones. Despite being given a two-year prognosis, Mick’s condition deteriorated rapidly, leading to his untimely death.
Mick leaves behind his devoted wife of 40 years, his children Charlotte, Michael, and Dean, and his five cherished grandsons, Kieran, Finley, Leo, Rory, and Coby. Mick’s friends, Ged and Tracie, have launched a GoFundMe campaign to assist with the unexpected funeral expenses, aiming to raise £3,500. So far, the campaign has raised £300 from three donors: Peter Otoole, Mark Johnson, and Gerald Flint, each contributing £100.
Any additional funds raised will be donated to MacMillan Cancer Support, an organization that provided substantial care and support to Mick and his family during his final days. The community’s generosity, no matter the amount, is greatly appreciated in honoring the memory of Mick Carter, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.
