The late Michael Allen Bosak, a cherished friend, father, and husband from Queen Creek, tragically ended his life on June 13, 2024. His passing has left a deep void in the hearts of many, especially his beloved family. Michael’s wife, MaKela, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to support their young children, Andre (3) and MaKena (1), as well as their niece, Kamya (16), whom they had taken in after the unexpected passing of MaKela’s mother last year.
Michael was a beacon of joy, known for his infectious laughter, warm smile, and genuine kindness. He was passionate about Michael Jordan, the Los Angeles Chargers, and Elvis Presley, but above all, he was devoted to his family. His journey of sobriety for nearly two and a half years was a testament to his love for his family and his commitment to personal growth. This period created lasting memories of a loving, sober father and husband, inspiring many with his determination to overcome his struggles with alcohol.
In the days following his passing, Michael’s family had planned to move into a larger home to better accommodate their blended family. However, given the circumstances, MaKela could not afford the larger home on her own and has decided to move into a new location starting July 1st. The GoFundMe campaign aims to raise $50,000 to support their family’s future and help MaKela navigate life as a single mother.
The campaign outlines several areas where the funds will be utilized:
- Two separate 529 Educational Savings Accounts for Andre and MaKena.
- Separate savings accounts for extracurricular activities such as sports camps, school trips, and dance lessons.
- Paying for Andre and MaKena’s Pre-K & Daycare so MaKela can continue working.
- Supporting Kamya through her last two years of high school and into adulthood.
- Covering end-of-life and burial expenses, as well as immediate family needs.
The community has rallied around the family, with heartfelt messages pouring in on social media. St Anthony Catholic Church shared their condolences: "We are saddened to share the death of Michael Allen Bosak. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, Rest in Peace. Amen." Connie Lenger also expressed her sympathies, saying, "My sympathies to his family."
In this time of loss, the community’s support is crucial. As MaKela wrote, "I desperately want Michael to be remembered for the man he was, rather than the choice he made. I cannot even begin to describe the immense amount of heartbreak I feel and have continued to feel every single second of each day since the moment I saw Michael was no longer here. To some Michael was a friend, a co-worker, or family member – to us, he was our world. I never thought I would be forced to imagine a life without him. Never did I think I’d have to say goodbye, I believed in our forever."
The GoFundMe campaign seeks to honor Michael’s memory by ensuring his family’s future is secure, providing for their education, extracurricular activities, and immediate needs. The community’s generosity will help MaKela begin the healing process without the added stress of financial worries, allowing Michael’s legacy to live on through the bright futures of his children.
Thank you for your compassion and support during this challenging time. Your kindness means more than words can express. Let us keep Michael’s spirit alive by rallying around his family and helping them navigate the difficult path ahead.
