Micah Foote’s passing has left the community of Newtown, Connecticut, in deep sorrow. Micah was a beloved figure, known for his service as a marine, and later as a talented chef. His unexpected death has prompted an outpouring of grief and condolences from friends and family.
Brittani L. Bickel shared her heartbreak on Facebook, saying, "My heart just sank. I just found out you’ve left us. I’m just waking up and hoping I’m having a nightmare but sadly no. We go WAY BACK. Became friends in preschool and through all our years growing up together you were ALWAYS the sweetest, kindest soul. You left for the marines, became a hero, then a chef. Sending so so much love to you up above and to your family Micah Foote. Until we meet again bud, give heaven some hell. See you on the other side."
Others echoed her sentiment, expressing their shock and sadness. Melissa Cooper simply wrote, "What??? What happened??? Just waking up too…." Shirley Sullivan, Natalie Young, and Melinda Rosner also conveyed their condolences and support to Brittani and Micah’s family.
In response to this tragic loss, a fundraiser was organized by Jessica Elia to support Micah’s family—his wife Nerlande, and children Madi and Sammy. The fundraiser, titled "Honoring Micah Foote: Support for His Family," has raised $3,950 of its $25,000 target, with contributions from friends and well-wishers such as Douglas R. Fagel, who donated $1,000, and Emily Reynolds, who gave $250.
Jessica Elia stated, "We’re standing together with Nerlande, Madi, and Sammy in the wake of the tragic loss of their husband and father, Micah. Your donations will offer them crucial financial support during this difficult time. Let’s surround them with love and solidarity as they navigate this profound loss together."
The community’s response reflects the deep respect and affection they held for Micah, highlighting the far-reaching impact of his life and the void left by his passing.
