Matthew Joseph Tupper, a beloved member of the Lunenburg community in Nova Scotia, has tragically passed away, leaving behind a grieving family and a young daughter. His cousin, Terri Bowlby-Chiasson, shared the heart-wrenching news on Facebook, emphasizing the profound impact of his loss on the family and the community. "Feeling very sad to post this… Our Tupper family has lost a younger cousin, Matthew Tupper. Our hearts go out to all of his loved ones. He also leaves behind his one year-old daughter… My heart breaks for her. May he rest in peace, fly high with all the angels, Matthew. You are loved by so many," Terri expressed.
The outpouring of support and condolences has been overwhelming, with many echoing Terri’s sentiments. Friends and family members shared their sorrow and support through social media. Melinda Beverly commented, "Oh so sorry for your loss Terri, so young. Condolences to all his family and friends," encapsulating the shock and sympathy felt by many.
In response to the tragic event, a fundraiser was set up by Christina MacNeil under the title "In Loving Memory of Matthew Tupper," aiming to gather support for the funeral and ongoing needs of Matthew’s family, including his 18-month-old daughter. Christina, a childhood friend and neighbor, recounted, "Having grown up in Bridgewater, and going to BHS, it feels as though we are all interwoven… When I heard about Matt’s passing, and then learned that he was not only leaving behind his parents, wife, Danica, and their 18-month-old daughter, and sister-in-law, Tamara, who is my coworker and friend, I wanted to start this GoFundMe page to support them with funeral/memorial costs, living expenses, and money to support his baby girl as she grows up."
So far, the fundraiser has raised a significant portion of its $10,000 goal, thanks to contributions from individuals like Craig Coutts, who made the top donation. The community’s involvement reflects the strong bonds formed over years, as many shared memories of Matthew, emphasizing his kind nature and the loss felt by all who knew him.
The collective efforts to support Matthew’s family during this difficult time highlight the community’s solidarity and the lasting impact Matthew had on those around him.
