The late Matthew Rumble, a cherished resident of Toronto, had his life tragically cut short on June 25, 2024. Matthew was on a routine journey using the TTC when an argument escalated into a fatal altercation, leading to his untimely death. The suspects involved in his murder are still at large, compounding the family’s grief with the lack of justice.
Matthew is survived by his seven children: Casandra (20), Matthew (18), Royal (14), Athena (8), Stellina (7), Natalia (6), and Violetta (4). He is also survived by his wife, Stella, who now faces the overwhelming responsibility of caring for their children and managing the financial burdens of funeral expenses.
AD Mercer, a close friend of the family, has initiated a fundraiser to support Matthew’s funeral and his children’s needs. The GoFundMe campaign has set a goal of $15,000, of which $250 has been raised so far through four donations. One anonymous donor contributed $100, while Selvin Campos and Sarah Kamrad each donated $50.
Jessica Haring shared her sorrow on Facebook, stating, "On June 25th, Rumble Matteo’s life was tragically stolen from us. He is survived by his 7 children and his wife, Stella. The family has now been left with the hard financial task of caring for those children and covering Matthew’s funeral costs. Any donations are appreciated."
Another mourner, Tiswen Synyenlentu Jr., expressed condolences, saying, "May your soul rest in Peace, Matthew Rumble. My condolences to the family, especially his wife Stella and all the kids. May God guide all of you through this difficult moment."
The community’s outpouring of support underscores the deep impact Matthew had on those around him. As the family navigates this challenging time, they lean on the kindness of friends and strangers alike to help them through their loss and financial struggles.
