Manuel "Manny" Arroyo passed away on May 17th, 2024. Manny was born on December 6th, 1969, and was diagnosed with autism at an early age. He led a happy and healthy life under the care of his late parents. After his father’s passing in November 2020, Manny moved to a board and care home, where he continued to enjoy music, especially songs by Selena and Vicente Fernandez, and often requested "The Itsy-Bitsy Spider" from his sister Maria.
In the past year, Manny’s health declined following a hip replacement surgery. Complications arose, leading to multiple surgeries and an ileostomy. Despite his health issues, Manny remained cheerful, finding joy in visits and his favorite plush doll, "Bluey." His playful nature and smile brought light to those around him, even as his condition worsened.
A fundraiser has been organized by Lydia Rios to assist Manny’s sister, Maria Arroyo, with the costs of his passing. As of now, $400 has been raised out of the $8,000 goal, with contributions from David Perez, Tanya Maglinti, and Alex Orellana. Manny is survived by his sisters Maria and Veronica Arroyo. The family is grateful for the support and donations to help honor Manny’s memory.
