The late Mandy Druett was from England. Her son, Ben Skinner – Druett, is struggling to fulfill her final wish of having her ashes spread in Cornwall. Mandy passed away from a heart attack at the young age of 25 on November 16th. She had called Ben, expressing that she wasn’t feeling well, but due to his busy work schedule, he missed her call. Tragically, when he went to check on her two days later, he found her unresponsive with blood coming from her head.
Ben has created a GoFundMe campaign to raise £2,500 to give his mother the memorial she deserves. He describes the impact of her sudden death and the challenges he faces with mental health issues that run in the family. Ben shares, “I want to give my mum her wings again and make her one last wish my number priority.”
The fundraiser has raised £25 so far, with a donation from Hannah Thompson. Ben is appealing to the community for support, emphasizing the importance of this memorial to honor his mother’s dream.
Ben’s plea for help reflects the difficulties many face when trying to honor their loved ones’ final wishes amidst personal and financial challenges. As Ben shared on Facebook, “Please donate anything you can! Would be brilliant thank you!” This call for support highlights the communal effort needed to fulfill Mandy’s last wish and bring some peace to her grieving family.
