Lonzo Sanky, a beloved member of the Lancaster community, passed away suddenly, leaving his family and friends in deep sorrow. Lonzo had just returned home before his unexpected departure, adding to the shock and grief experienced by his loved ones.
Timika Jenkins, Lonzo’s sister, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the expenses of laying him to rest. The campaign, created on July 1, 2024, aims to raise $10,000, but as of now, only $180 has been raised through four donations. Timika expressed her heartfelt plea on the fundraiser page: "Hello all, I’m TIMIKA. Suddenly my brother passed away Lonzo (Sanky) this blew us all away. Our family needs help with laying him to rest properly anything will help keep us in your prayers."
The community has started to respond to this call for help. Among the donors, Patricia Elkins and Jamila Logan each contributed $40 and $50 respectively, while Laurence Shoobs also donated $50.
On Facebook, Lonzo’s cousin, Lakeisha Chavis-Gaddy, shared her grief: "My cousin passed away, he just came home and gone just like that. Any donation, kind word, or prayers are greatly appreciated at this time." These words resonate deeply, highlighting the suddenness and the emotional impact of Lonzo’s passing on his family and friends.
This collective effort to honor Lonzo Sanky’s memory underscores the importance of community support during times of loss. The family continues to seek help to ensure Lonzo receives a proper farewell, reflecting their love and respect for him.
