The late Linda Ann Toler Dales passed away in Roane County, Tennessee, on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Her sister, Stephanie Lynn Carter, is organizing her burial as Linda had no life insurance or funds set aside for funeral services. Stephanie has turned to the community for financial support through a GoFundMe campaign.
Stephanie shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook, explaining, "As some of you know, my sister, Linda Ann Toler Dales, passed away on Saturday. She did not have any life insurance or burial plans, so it is left up to me to fund her services. If you are able to give anything, even if it is just $1.00, please know that it will be appreciated so much. If you are unable to give, but willing to give us your prayers, please know that those are needed just as much."
The community has responded with an outpouring of condolences and support. Brittany Carter commented, "Steph, we had no idea, so sorry. Prayers for all of you," while Melissa Muncy added, "So sorry for your loss. Sending many prayers." Many others echoed these sentiments, offering prayers and expressing their sorrow.
Linda was born and raised in Jenkins, Kentucky, and was the daughter of Steve and Linda Toler. She graduated from Jenkins High School in 2000 and had been living in Harriman, Tennessee, for the past ten years. Stephanie is working to bring Linda back to her hometown for her final services.
The fundraiser, organized by Stephanie, has raised $170 of the $5,000 goal so far. Donations have come from supportive individuals like Laura Summers, Jennifer Jensen, Patricia McCown, and Cindy Stidham.
This tragedy highlights the financial struggles many face during unexpected losses. Stephanie’s plea on GoFundMe reflects the deep emotional and financial burden she carries: "I have created this GoFundMe as a way to help raise money to pay for her services. All money will be handled by me and will go directly to the Funeral Home. If you are able to give anything, even if it is just $1, know that it will be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to give any money, we are always willing to accept your prayers."
The community’s response showcases the power of collective support in times of personal crisis. Through donations and prayers, Stephanie hopes to honor her sister’s memory and provide a proper farewell for Linda Ann Toler Dales.
