Laurel "Laurie" L. Teasdale, age 53, of Monroe, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, surrounded by family and loved ones at SSM Monroe Hospital. Laurie was born on April 8, 1971, in Amherst, Ohio, the daughter of Berry and Juanita (Bivens) Parker. She graduated from Monroe High School and Blackhawk Tech, where she received her CNA License. Laurie married Matthew Teasdale on December 30, 1995, in Monroe and worked as a CNA at an Assisted Living center in Belleville. She had a passion for horses and animals, being particularly involved with her local humane society.
Laurie is survived by her husband, Matt Teasdale; children, Natasha (Gottlieb Brandli III) Teasdale, Alyssa (Brent) Isely, Kaya Teasdale, Dana Teasdale, and Tristan Teasdale; grandson, Gottlieb Brandli IV; mother, Juanita Walker; and siblings, among them Teresa Rush, who has been sharing heartfelt messages on Facebook.
Laurie’s passing has deeply affected her community and family. Condolences and prayers have flooded social media, reflecting the immense loss felt by those who knew her. Jennifer Reynolds posted, “Prayers for you and your family,” while Ashley Nicole expressed, “Sorry for your loss. I love you.” Teresa Rush responded, “Love you too,” showing the supportive bond within the family. Laura Guzell also shared, “So sorry, Sis. Sending lots of love and hugs for you and the whole family.”
To honor Laurie’s memory and support her family during this challenging time, her daughter Natasha Teasdale has organized a fundraiser titled “Honoring Laurel & Supporting Her Family in a Time of Need.” As of now, $130 has been raised out of the $60,000 goal, with early donations from Corrine Jadin, Lindsey Beuschel, Isaiah Roush, and Baylie Heppner. Natasha emphasized the necessity of the fundraiser, stating that all donations will go directly to cover funeral costs, medical expenses, and living expenses for the family.
Laurie was described as an outgoing, free-spirited soul with a deep love for music and animals. Her dedication as a CNA was evident in her personal relationships with those she cared for, extending her compassion beyond her professional duties. Laurie’s legacy of kindness continued as she became an honorary organ donor, potentially saving more lives even after her passing.
Funeral services for Laurie will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 7:00 PM at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home, with visitation starting from 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given in Laurie’s name to the Green County Humane Society. The community is encouraged to support the Teasdale family during this difficult time, helping them honor Laurie’s life and the love she shared with everyone around her.
