The late Mr. Segun Adekoya, a beloved fellow Nigerian, husband, and father, passed away on May 9, 2024, after enduring a year-long protracted illness that left him unable to work. He is survived by his wife and four children, who are currently residing in Bradford, England.
This tragic event has deeply affected not only Mr. Adekoya’s immediate family but also the entire Nigerian community in Bradford. The Nigerian Community Association Bradford (NCAB) has stepped forward to support the grieving family. Mr. Adekoya’s wife is struggling with the costs associated with his funeral, which is estimated to be around £7,000. Additionally, the family needs another £5,000 for their upkeep until the wife can return to work, as she had to resign to care for her late husband.
The family’s financial burden is exacerbated by the daily charges for mortuary services while Mr. Adekoya’s body remains in the morgue. In response, the NCAB has organized a fundraiser with a goal of £12,000 to cover the funeral expenses and provide temporary financial support for the family.
The NCAB is calling on both Nigerians and non-Nigerians to contribute to this cause, aiming to alleviate some of the burdens on Mr. Adekoya’s family during this difficult time. Your donations are not only vital for the burial but also crucial for the family’s immediate needs as they navigate this challenging period.
