Kevin Wick from Ottumwa passed away recently, leaving his family and community in mourning. His wife, Katricia Wick, now faces the daunting task of managing funeral expenses and supporting their three children on her own.
To assist Katricia, her best friend Cameo Riley has organized a GoFundMe campaign titled "Help Ease the Burden for Kevin’s Family." As of today, the fundraiser has raised $1,180 out of a $12,000 goal from 18 donations. Joshua Miller’s contribution of $200 stands as the top donation so far, with other donations from Lorraine Deaton and Mercedes Morris.
The community has shown immense support. Classic Cuts Ottumwa shared on Facebook, "With extremely heavy hearts we ask that if you cannot donate, please share this to your feed. Kevin and the Wick family are extremely special to all of us at Classic Cuts, and this is a loss that will shake our whole community. Show some love to our girl if you can."
Clarissa Zbyszynski Helmick also shared her condolences on Facebook, saying, "Our thoughts are with all those impacted by this tragedy." Chris Arnold, who went to school with Kevin, expressed his grief, stating, "Damn prayers to his family. I went to school with Kevin. He was a great guy and this is just terrible." Connie Jones added, "Prayers for all his family and healing prayers."
This tragic loss has deeply affected those who knew Kevin, and the fundraiser aims to provide some relief to his grieving family.
