Kenneth Daniel DeZurik tragically passed away on June 18, 2024, in Valdosta, Georgia. The 27-year-old was killed by a careless driver while walking with his fiancée to get pizza. They were holding hands and talking to his father behind large orange barrels in a construction zone when a car, attempting to pass an 18-wheeler truck, crashed through the barrier and struck Kenneth. His fiancée, who is three months pregnant with their child, survived the incident. This devastating event occurred near GA 31 by Interstate 75 in Lowndes County.
Kenneth’s uncle, Kenneth Taylor-Mosley, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to cover his burial expenses and support his family. The fundraiser, titled "Fund Kenny’s Final Farewell and Family Future," aims to raise $11,000. As of now, $100 has been raised.
Kenneth Taylor-Mosley shared his grief, expressing, "He was my nephew, my friend, and my heartbeat… I’m going to miss his beautiful smile, his crazy jokes, and his laughter." Kenneth’s body is currently at the Macon County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.
The community has expressed their sorrow and support on Facebook. Abre Hutchinson wrote, "Rest In Peace Kenneth Daniel DeZurik 07/08/1996-06/18/2024. I will always love you baby I will never let you go." Johnny Torres commented, "Sorry for your loss sweetheart, may he rest in peace!! Blessed Be!!" Andrew Harlan added, "He will walk in God’s grace and light for the rest of time heaven has a new angel to look over us. You will be missed, kid. You had a heart of gold and were a great friend. I feel as if part of me left with you, buddy. Till we meet again."
Kevin DeZurik, Kenneth’s father, shared his grief, "Rest In Peace son, you will always be loved and remembered." Tammy Hoover also expressed her pain, "We love you so very much, Kenny, and will miss you so much. Rest in peace, I love you from the bottom of my heart."
