The late Katie Steele, a cherished resident of Henderson, Nevada, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 14th, in the early morning hours. The community and her family are grappling with the immense loss, as Katie was a beloved mother and friend.
Katie’s sudden death has left her children, Milo and Marley, devastated. Milo Roanoke has organized a GoFundMe campaign to help cover Katie’s death expenses and support her children. As of now, the fundraiser has raised $520 out of the $15,000 goal with contributions from seven donors.
Russell Emory, a close friend of Katie, expressed his sorrow on Facebook, stating, "We took the biggest loss ever. She was the best person I knew; if you ever just met Katie, you knew she was an amazing person. These two kids were the most important things in her life; she spoke about them every day. She was a great mom and my best friend."
The GoFundMe page, organized by Milo, reads: "Hello, our names are Milo and Marley. We truly appreciate you taking a moment to read our story. Marley and I have been blindsided by the recent unexpected loss of our mother, Katie Steele. Any money donated will be used to pay for Katie’s death expenses for the children. Any amount you are willing to contribute is greatly appreciated. If you are unable to contribute money at this time, please share this story with your friends and family; it would mean the world to us."
Tracy Grohe Litsinger shared her condolences on Facebook, saying, "We love you." Steve Stovall, Amber Meyer, and Savannah Barroso also expressed their sympathy, with Savannah writing, "Omg Russ I’m so sorry."
The community has shown support, but there is still a long way to go to reach the fundraising goal. This effort underscores the need for collective support in times of personal tragedy and highlights the financial challenges that families face during such difficult moments.
