Katie Bearden Chandler, the daughter of Doug Bearden, pastor of Central Baptist Church in Carrollton, GA, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, after enduring several severe illnesses. She was 45 years old. Katie, who was an amputee and a Type 1 diabetic, also suffered from kidney disease and required dialysis. Despite her many health challenges, she faced her hardships with resilience.
Katie’s husband, Buck Chandler, now faces the daunting task of managing her funeral expenses. The financial burden is immense, with costs amounting to about $20,000. Unfortunately, Katie did not have life insurance, leaving Buck to shoulder these expenses alone. The Martin & Hightower funeral home in Carrollton, GA, kindly arranged the funeral on June 22, 2024, despite not having received full payment.
In response to this need, Alan Carr organized a GoFundMe campaign to support the Chandler family. As of now, $50 has been raised towards the $20,000 goal. Alan Carr shared the fundraiser on Facebook, urging the community to contribute and share the post to help keep the need visible.
Alan Carr wrote, "After a long battle with several devastating illnesses, Katie was delivered from this life and taken to glory. Her husband Buck is left to deal with overwhelming funeral expenses. Any help you could give would be appreciated. Please pray for this family. They are hurting."
Don Drake also expressed his condolences, saying, "May the Lord comfort the family!"
The community is called upon to support the Chandler family during this difficult time. Donations, no matter the size, can make a significant difference. As Alan Carr emphasized, "The need is great in this situation. Please give to help this family if you can."
