Karla Kay Amdall, a beloved resident of Alabaster, Alabama, passed away on May 19, 2024, at the age of 64. Born on July 22, 1959, in Haleyville, AL, to Bencil and Betty Quinn, Karla graduated from Haleyville High School in 1977. Known for her devotion as a mother and her role as a cherished friend, confidant, and mentor, Karla’s warmth and compassion touched many lives.
Karla’s family is now facing the difficult task of covering her final expenses. Her daughter, Christy Harper, has organized a GoFundMe fundraiser to assist with these costs, with a goal of $10,000. The fundraiser aims to honor Karla’s memory and help with the expenses incurred due to her passing.
Karla’s life was marked by her selflessness and her ability to make others feel valued and understood. Her legacy of strength and generosity will be fondly remembered by those who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Michael Amdall, her daughter Christy, her sister Kim Quinn, and her grandchildren Brelyn, Daphne, Emaleigh, Austin, Matthew, and Sam. Karla is also survived by her close friends Sunnie Taphorn, Roxie Sartin, and Renee Foster, as well as numerous other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 2-4 pm at Veteran’s Park in Alabaster, AL. The family requests that attendees dress casually due to the hot weather and bring any pictures of Karla they may have to share.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to help offset Karla’s final medical expenses. Christy Harper’s GoFundMe campaign serves as a testament to the love and support Karla’s family and friends have for her, ensuring her memory lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
