The late Kaleb Elijah Hardge was a four-year-old boy from North Chicago. Kaleb tragically lost his life in a head-on car accident. He was riding in a booster seat in one of the vehicles and was transported to Vista Medical Center East with critical, life-threatening injuries. Sadly, Kaleb was pronounced dead in the emergency room. Kaleb is survived by his mother, Shawna White.
Ericka Lumpkin has organized a GoFundMe campaign to honor Kaleb’s memory and support his celebration of life. Ericka, a friend of Kaleb’s mother, is seeking prayers and donations to help cover the costs. The fundraiser’s goal is $10,000, and it has just been launched.
The celebration of life for Kaleb Elijah Hardge is scheduled for Saturday, June 8, 2024, at First Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, 1539 Elizabeth Ave, North Chicago, IL 60064. The family has requested that attendees avoid black attire and instead wear bright colors and superhero accessories to honor Kaleb’s memory.
The news of Kaleb’s passing has deeply affected the community. On Facebook, Yashin Inchworm Phillips shared the details of the celebration of life, requesting prayers for the family. Other community members expressed their condolences, with Sharon Stephenson-Gayle writing, "Rip little angel," and Cashonne Mcknight commenting, "So sad."
Ericka Lumpkin’s fundraiser reflects a collective effort to support Shawna White during this difficult time and to honor the memory of a beloved little boy taken too soon.
