The late JP "Chief" Lilly was from Pleasant Grove, Utah. The community and his family are grappling with his sudden death and the subsequent financial burden it has left. JP, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, founded Bikers Against Child Abuse (B.A.C.A) and dedicated his life to helping others, especially children.
Rex Jackson, a close friend, organized a GoFundMe campaign to support JP’s family. The campaign, titled "Honoring JP ‘Chief’ Lilly: Support His Family," aims to raise $20,000. As of today, $1,550 has been raised from seven donations.
JP passed away on June 20th, 2024, due to an unexpected medical event. His wife, Lisa, shared that JP believed he would live a long and healthy life. His unexpected death has left Lisa and their children struggling with funeral expenses and the transition to self-sufficiency, as JP was the primary provider for the family.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Rex Jackson wrote, "JP Lilly was one of the most Christlike people I ever met. I will miss his smile, his laugh, and his example. He helped so many people in his life. In talking with his wife, Lisa, I found out that JP thought he would live a long and healthy life. His sudden passing has left Lisa and their children struggling to handle the funeral expenses and transition to supporting themselves."
The community is rallying to support JP’s family, honoring his legacy of service and compassion. Donations have come from various individuals, including a $500 contribution from Carol Bonnett and another $500 from Kenneth Abel. The fundraiser reflects the collective effort to help a family in need and to commemorate a man who spent his life improving the lives of others.
