The late Josh Quail, a beloved resident of Ames, Iowa, passed away on July 1, 2024. His sudden departure has left his family and community in deep sorrow. Josh was known for his unwavering dedication as a father and husband, being the sole provider for the Quail family. His wife, Andrea, and their children are now facing an unimaginable loss and the challenges of continuing without him.
Andrea expressed her heartbreak on Facebook, stating, "Our hearts are broken in a million pieces! I am not okay, our children are not okay! We lost our world far, far too soon! Josh was my ride or die, he was my one true love, we completed each other in so many ways. He was an amazing father and husband, he was so compassionate, loving, caring, selfless, and devoted! He was the sole provider for the Quail 7 household! He never complained, he always told me I was exactly where I belonged raising and taking care of our babies!"
In response to this tragic event, the Class of 2001 initiated a GoFundMe campaign to support Andrea and her children with funeral expenses and ongoing financial needs. The fundraiser, organized by Michael Easton, aims to raise $2,000 to help ease the family’s burden during this difficult time.
The outpouring of support on social media has been immense. Cindy Gilliland commented, "Love you all, my dear. I said a prayer today and let Josh know we are here for all of you and will support you & your babies. I know you are broken and understand your world has been turned upside down." Similarly, Angie Novak Weidemann offered her condolences, "So so so sorry for the loss of Josh! Praying for all of you."
Friends and family continue to rally around Andrea, offering prayers and emotional support. "Sending you so much love from Oregon," wrote Courtney K Woosley. Amanda Dirksen echoed the sentiment, "Sending so many prayers and hugs. I’m so sorry for your loss."
Josh’s passing has deeply affected everyone who knew him. Derick Jurgensen from GJURGENSEN SCRAP shared, "Us at GJURGENSEN SCRAP are lost for words. We’re praying for you, the kids, and the extended family. He will be missed by many; he just had a way about himself. His laugh was one of genuine."
In this time of profound grief, Andrea and her children find solace in the community’s support. The fundraising effort is a testament to the collective effort to provide some relief to the family, honoring Josh’s memory and ensuring that his family is cared for in his absence.
