The tragic passing of Josh and Jace Edlund from Black Hawk has left their family and community in deep mourning. Both brothers passed away unexpectedly within a day of each other, Jace at the age of 37 and Josh at 44. They were known for their big hearts, but also struggled with significant personal challenges that ultimately led to their untimely deaths.
To support their mother, Vicki Murray Edlund, during this heartbreaking time, Dustin Hirsch has organized a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the funeral expenses. The goal is to raise $7,500, and as of now, $4,880 has been raised through 53 donations. Donations are also being accepted at Northern Hills Federal Credit Union, and for those preferring Venmo, Kayla Jacobs is managing contributions through her account, @kayla-Jacobs-14.
The community has shown an outpouring of support and condolences on Facebook:
Jill Rehling expressed, "OMG I had no idea both passed. My heart hurts for your family."
Mindy Parker commented, "How sad to lose 2 brothers at once."
Kristie Mitchell offered her prayers, saying, "Prayers for all of those who mourn their passing, how incredibly heartbreaking."
Nicki Clark sent her deepest condolences, stating, "Sending our deepest condolences to you and your family."
Judy Tomko Dowdalls shared her prayers, "Praying for all of you. So very sorry."
Leatha Greany added, "May God Bless You and family."
The campaign reflects the collective grief and the strong sense of community support for the Edlund family. Plans are underway for a celebration of life later in the summer to honor Josh and Jace. The family continues to ask for support and prayers as they navigate through this difficult time.
