The late Kenneth M. Broussard II was from Prairieville. His untimely death has left his family and friends in deep mourning. Kenneth was involved in a tragic two-vehicle crash on LA 16 at Bailey Lane in Livingston Parish shortly before midnight on June 28, 2024. He was driving a 2005 Dodge Neon when a 2007 Infiniti M35 crossed the centerline and collided head-on with his vehicle. Despite being properly restrained, Kenneth sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Abigail Wheat, a 22-year-old from Denham Springs, was a passenger in the Infiniti and also lost her life in the crash. The driver of the Infiniti survived but was seriously injured and taken to a local hospital. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, with toxicology samples being taken from both drivers.
The news of Kenneth’s death has rippled through the community, prompting an outpouring of grief and support. His mother, Sharon Henry Broussard, expressed her sorrow on Facebook, saying, "Praying for all involved and their families." Others in the community echoed her sentiments, with Phillip Rockenbaugh urging, "Wear your seat belt! It doesn’t cost you anything, but it could save your life!" and Hannah’s Blue Butterflies Road Safety Awareness remarking, "Absolutely devastating. Rose Marie Campbell Gravois shared, "My thoughts and prayers are with all the families of those that were involved in these terrible accidents.
